"Whirlwinds, which swept through southern, central and eastern provinces of Poland on 15-17 August, claimed three victims. Thirty seven people were injured. The wind destroyed or damaged over 820 buildings, brought down dozens of thousands of trees and snapped many power lines. Dozens of local, district and regional roads were blocked. Hundreds houses had the electricity cut off. Material losses may amount to dozens of millions of zlotys...."
