Citizens of Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Hungary and Slovakia were among the victims of January construction accident during the International Carrier Pigeon Exposition in Chorzów. For the first seven years after the Chernobyl disaster no-one cared about the contaminated forest. Only in 1992 the tragic fire led to reintroduction of the forest management in the radiation-contaminated area. Paweł Soloch, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Chief of the National Civil Defence took part in a meeting of Chiefs of the National Civil Defence of V4+2 Countries (the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary + Austria and Slovenia). The meeting was devoted first of all to tightening the cooperation among the Visegrád Group countries and other Central European countries and to the exchange of experience in combating dangers connected with bird flu outbreaks. Quality management system in State Fire Service units in the Lubuskie province
For Improvement
Decision about introducing the quality management system in the State Fire Service in the Lubuskie province was taken in 2004. Arrangement of procedures and directions which comply with the system requirements was considered to improve functioning of the State Fire Service and assure required quality putting the customer in the centre of all processes at the same time. It was in 1888. In Tamowica Polna, Polish village near Stanisłowów on Eastern Borderlands priest Marian Topolnicki addressed his congregation: "Gentlemen! Let's set up a volunteer fire service in our village. The fire service will be to prevent fires and extinguish them. A firefighter must be healthy, strong and brave and such people should apply..."
