A Polish national conference "Women in Uniform Services in the 21st Century" under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, was held in the Central Military Library in Warsaw in March. Representatives of the authorities, of the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Interior and Administration as well as of the NGOs took part in the conference. Women from the uniform services had also a strong representation: they had their representatives from the Polish Army, the Border Guard, the Military Police, the Police, the Internal Security Agency, the Government Protection Bureau, the Municipal Police, the Prison Service, the Union of the Volunteer Fire Service of the Republic of Poland and the State Fire Service.
